This is pretty cool! I didn't know a mnemonic for the 10 provinces, so that could come in handy. Great work on the first episode!

I don't wanna nitpick, but the little boner dude in Blade Runner isn't origami, it's made from a match.

Great first show! Bunch of clever people with a good sense of humour doing a trivia/quiz show. Fantastic.

If I were on any social media whatsits, I'd share your show with everyone. Instead, I'll just inform my real life pubquiz friends.

Looking forward to enjoying your number two. What?

Flying Waffle!
An important nitpick, but it was a paper matchstick. Therefore, the nitpick should really be that it was Kirigami. :D
Nitpick Returned!
I love this podcast so much.

Coming from a true cold blooded Canadian, we did not have to learn the American states nor any American geography of any kind. That was the early 90's and I'm quite sure that it's not changed.
She was lying.

Funny story though. Could have helped me in grade 5.

Gin did not start as a malaria 'cure'. Tonic did. Gin goes back hundresd of years earlier, as a folk remedy for the Plague. All of the so-called 'botanicals' were folk remedies - Juniper berries (they smell like turpentine, they didn't add them for laughs), dried Spanish orange peels, flower petals, and so on. The mash was heated to about 180 degrees, a tube went up and over, and a basket of 'botanicals' was placed at the top of the distillation tower. Back then they barely understood this process, hence the language 'spirits' and the quasi-mystical assumption that it must be a cure.
Gin was the first distilled spirit available to the mass public. Real curmudgeons date the fall of Jolly Old England not to the loss of the Empire, but to the era Gin became widely available...chrstphr
