A well intentioned well actually here. James Dean wore a red jacket in Rebel Without a Cause, not a black leather jacket, although it appears that promotional materials for the film showed a black leather jacket.
Another great episode, can't wait for next weeks!
It's neat that the pulled-through-a-wedding-ring tagline was used for bikinis -- Shetland and Orenburg lace shawls were historically referred to as wedding ring shawls. They're these huge shawls of knitted lace made on incredibly skinny knitting needles, and it's said that the lace was so fine that you could pull the shawl through a wedding ring. (If you do a Google image search you can see a picture of one being drawn through a ring -- pretty impressive.)
