It's a free-for-all this week as we decided to bring out own topics for this episode. So naturally, it's a nutty grab bag of some jaw-dropping trivia. Where else can you learn about the birth of the smiley emoticon, how to grow a pineapple in your own house, the jellyfish that is IMMORTAL, and why do people call the Academy Award "Oscar." So bust out your suspenders because this week is crazy pants.

ALSO: Immortality quiz, Hawaiian mystery candy

Hey dudes and dudettes! Great episode but inevitably as a nerd and a theology grad student, I'd like to clarify something that frequently gets misconstrued in popular culture and knowledge. Papal infallibility has to do with the Pope speaking "ex cathedra", for the Church, in matters of dogma. He can't speak infallibly without a lot of consent from bishops and without a great deal of consideration. Basically, he can't just say that pizza is the best food and that be infallible. Important bit of trivia, there has only been two occasions where any infallible remarks have been made!

Enjoy the tidbit of theology trivia! I'll be recording a message about my love for the podcast soon (assuming you're still accepting them)!

putting money on Free Parking in Monopoly is what gives the game a reputation as interminable. If you play strictly by the rules, including proper auctioning and mortgaging, a 4 player game can easily be finished in a brisk hour.

Every time you go around the board, $200 is added to the game. If money doesn't constantly leak OUT of the game through luxury tax, income tax, chance, and community chest, the game can take a very long time.

Guillaume Duchenne was a 19th century scientist, not an 18th century scientist. Karen was off by 100 years.

Keep 'em coming guys. Congrats on the Stitcher Award.

Though it's not a part of the acronym, the full title of the CDC is the Centers for Disease Control *and Prevention*

Great episode, however you still don't have the Cub Scout advancements quite right. Bobcat is earned first for all Cub Scouts no matter what age. Tiger Cub is earned in Kindergarten or 7 yrs old. Wolf is earned in 1st grade or age 8yrs. Webelos (pronounced with the accent on the first syllable - like wee-belows ) The last rank a Cub can earn is Arrow of Light and is earned after Webelos and usually in the 4th grade. Scouts can only earn this after being a Webelos for 6 months and before completing 5th grade or turning 11 yrs or joining a Boy Scout Troop. Arrow of Light is the only Cub Scout earned rank badge that is carried over to the Boy Scout uniform like a bridge ibetween the 2 stages of Scouting.
