119: All Around the World

DIRECT DOWNLOAD  /  ITUNES  /  RSS

Please put your seat back in the full upright position, and your tray table up as we're about to take off into this travel-themed episode! Discover the strange origin of passenger air travel and exactly what you had to do to "fly" from New York City to Los Angeles. Dana's got space tourism on top of mind and Chris mapped out some funky destinations but it's all jumbled up in his anagram segment. Are you a world traveller? Then you'll probably ace the airport code quiz, and our lonely island challenge.

ALSO: Aussies rule!

RUNTIME: 46 minutes 25 seconds

Um Actually...

Christmas Island is in the Indian Ocean, not Pacific Ocean

The Territory of Christmas Island is a territory of Australia in the Indian Ocean. It has a population of 2,072 residents who live in a number of "settlement areas" on the northern tip of the island: ... Wikipedia

We love your show! We've learnt so much trivia and fun facts. We've been listening since the beginning, and enjoy listening to old episodes while on road trips. Though....we can't consume anything with "natural flavouring" without chuckling and declaring "contains Beaver Butt Juice"!!! :)

Another small correction: CKS was never the IATA code for Taipei. Chiang Kai-Shek International Airport (often called CKS) did change its official name to Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport in 2006, but it was TPE all along. CKS is Carajás in Brazil.
Fun show, anyway!
