167: What's Your Guilty Pleasure?

Time to let our hair down, uncover and admit to some of our guilty pleasures and the facts and trivia behind them: the lurid crime-filled world of Law & Order: SVU, reality shows, and how real is courtroom TV? Chris confesses his love for his girlfriend, Judge Judy, and shares the story of how she became TV's highest paid star, and how exactly do courtroom shows work. Get your hands nice and jazzy as Karen delivers a handy Broadway show tunes quiz that will show up in pub trivia one day. And we love Disneyland facts, and we love pee facts, so why not both? Some of the outrageously funny things that the Disneyland custodial crew has ever seen.

Greeting from Michigan! . I loved the episode about guilty pleasures but I have an "Um Actually" for you. In Colin's quiz about guilty pleasure tv shows, he asked for all 5 Kardashans in order by age. Since you didn't specify sisters, there is acKardashian brother you didn't mention. Robert "Rob" Kardashian Jr. The order is Kourtney,Kim,Khloe, Rob, then Kendall and Kylie (who are actually Jenners) if you want to be technical. I love you guys and keep up the good work. GJB is my guilty pleasure.

Hey Good Job Brain!!! I am a 15 year old from California and I just wanted to comment on your recent episode; What's Your Guilty Pleasure. I heard you talking about hearsay in the Judge Judy segment and just wanted to let you know, there is a formal definition. I learned this in my Mock Trial class at my school. Hearsay is defined as an out-of-court statement offered for the truth of the matter asserted. There are three parts to this. First, the testimony has to have been out of court, meaning if it was said in court, it's not hearsay. Second, it has to be a statement, meaning it can't be a question, etc. Finally, it has to be offered for the truth of the matter asserted, meaning if I were to say "I told Bob my email address", but I am using it to show that me and Bob talked and not that I told him my email address, it is also not hearsay. When I heard this part of the show, I was really excited! Love your show!

I have an Um....Actually about Karen's musical quiz. While Julie Andrews did win the Oscar for Mary Poppins, Audrey Hepburn wasn't nominated for My Fair Lady which many believe is because of the controversy surrounding Hepburn not singing throughout the movie. Love the podcast.
