Ah, finally, and *enlightening* episode! Let it shine, let it shine, let it...... destroy? Chris tells us about the infamous Las Vegas "death ray" and how a simple CFL lightbulb destroyed his videogame dreams. Bask in facts about glow-in-the-dark toys, fireflies...and "fire-pigs." And yes, the human race have finally invented a mind-boggling material that cannot be any more black. NONE MORE BLACK! And music round is back with some light rock.

Good article. Thanks for providing this articleWhatsapp
Hey guys, thanks for another great show.
Just a quick comment on the use of CFL 'bulbs', my quick internet research says that they are not more efficient or economical to run all the time. It seems there is a short spike as the CFL is switched on but it only lasts for a tenth of a second and uses about five seconds of power; certainly not enough to justify leaving the lamp on all the time especially in an area where you don't go very often such as, say a loft.
Keep up the good work,
Kingers
Hey Brains! Just wanted to send you some podcast love, and I wanted to let you know you have inspired a friend and I to start our own podcast -- we even used your recommendation and discount code for Squarespace!
We have a few more things to do before we're up and running (basically, we need to actually record it and figure out what an rss feed is), but we plan on having it up in a few weeks. It's called the Classy as F*** Podcast, where we discuss highbrow topics with lowbrow humor and enjoy wine and cheese. We're taking a page out of your book and incorporating the history and modern uses of our topics, as well as personal anecdotes and stories. For example, our first episode will be on, of course, wine and cheese. And we actually found a story of a man in 1982 who broke into Buckingham Palace, at some cheese, drank some wine, and, eventually, got caught. But not before actually getting as far as Her Majesty's room.
We couldn't have done this without you guys!
Love,
The folks at the Classy as F*** Podcast
Alas! After approximately six months of commute listening to GJB, I have finally caught up with the current episode! Now I must wait for newly released ones like the rest of the common throng! I have immensely enjoyed this journey, and it has made me a much more interesting person! Thank you so much for all your efforts in creation of this show.
